The Benchmade Bugout was already a favourite among EDC enthusiasts, hikers and anyone who likes to carry a lightweight pocket knife. With the new Benchmade Bugout Vapyr, that familiar formula receives a significant technical upgrade. Think CPM MagnaCut steel, an ultra-slim aluminium handle and a redesigned Torsion AXIS lock.

At first glance, you'll instantly recognise the Bugout line. Compact, practical and designed to be carried unnoticed. Yet the Vapyr feels like a different class within the same family. Exactly what appeals to those who already love the standard Bugout, but want something even slimmer.

The Benchmade Bugout in a slimmer package

Benchmade describes the Bugout Vapyr as being 33% slimmer than the standard Bugout. That fits perfectly with the original idea behind this model: a pocket knife that's easy to carry without getting in the way. Whether it's in a trouser pocket, jacket pocket or lightweight outdoor trousers, you'll hardly notice you're carrying such a versatile knife.

What makes it particularly impressive is the choice of materials. Instead of a synthetic handle, the Vapyr features an ultra-slim handle made from 6061-T6 anodised aluminium. This keeps the weight remarkably low. At approximately 49 grams, it remains a genuinely ultralight EDC knife.

CPM MagnaCut makes the Bugout Vapyr even more appealing

The blade of the Benchmade Bugout Vapyr is made from CPM MagnaCut. This modern premium steel has become popular thanks to its excellent balance of edge retention, toughness and corrosion resistance. The locking mechanism has also been updated. The Bugout Vapyr features Benchmade's Torsion AXIS lock, a redesigned version of the well-known AXIS lock. Operation remains familiar: smooth, reliable and equally comfortable for both left and right-handed users.

The difference lies in the engineering behind the lock. Benchmade replaces the traditional omega springs with a different spring construction, designed to provide a longer mechanical lifespan and consistently crisp operation.

The knife opens via dual thumb studs. The deep-carry pocket clip is reversible, allowing tip-up carry on either the left or right side.
