The **Messermeister Future santoku** is a durable, razor-sharp kitchen knife. The santoku is the Japanese version of the chef's knife. The knife is perfect for chopping vegetables, meat, fish, onion, garlic and various types of herbs. With a blade length of 16 cm, this santoku knife is relatively small. This means you have a lot of control while cutting, and the knife is also nice and lightweight.

The knives from the Future series are durable, climate-neutral and razor-sharp. They are knives for the current generation to enjoy. And because the manufacturing of these knives is climate-neutral, the production has no impact on the next generation. What's more, if used correctly, the high quality ensures that you can pass the knives on to the next generation! 

## Messermeister Future recycled steel blade

The blade is made from recycled stainless steel. The knife is made according to the traditional Solinger sharpening method. This is a highly efficient sharpening method that makes the knife truly razor-sharp. You can also easily sharpen the knife yourself if it starts to lose some of its sharpness over time.

## Messermeister Future FSC-certified beechwood handle

The handle is made from FSC-certified beechwood. It is beautifully light in colour and also lightweight. It is a common type of wood and, unlike a plastic handle, is biodegradable. The edges of the handle are sanded to a rounded finish, so the knife feels great in hand. To keep the wood beautiful for as long as possible, avoid putting the knife in the dishwasher. Wash the knife by hand and then dry it immediately. This prevents discolouration, cracks or warping of the wood. The handle is secured to the blade with two rivets.

Really liked this knife. Definitely better than a budget altenative. Very light, pretty and very easy to handle. Cut easily but not as sharp as expected (I had the impresion they preferred the edge to last longer vs. a sharper but more fragile edge). Great they made it more environmentally friendly, bravo!
