The **Due Cigni Coquus Kengata** is a stylish and remarkable kitchen knife. The design, the damasteel and the grenadilla handle. Everything about this knife is graceful and luxurious. Kengata means 'sword-like' in Japanese, referring to the sharply sloping end of the blade. Other than that, the knife can be regarded as a member of the santoku family. The Japanese version of the chef's knife. The narrow tip is ideal for finely cutting meat, fish and vegetables.

## Due Cigni Coquus blade

The blade is made from stainless Ferus Balbach Damasteel. It owes its name to the wild lines in the steel. These lines are the result of the two different types of steel that were used. Because of a difference in carbon content these types of steel will get a different colour during the forging process. The result is a nice contrast and the lines in the steel. The knife is stainless, but to make sure you can enjoy this remarkable blade for a long time we recommend cleaning it by hand.

## Due Cigni Coquus handle

The handle is made from one piece of grenadilla wood. An African type of wood known for its dark colour. This type of wood is often used for musical instruments and decorative pieces. It is no surprise Due Cigni used this material for these decorative knives. Thanks to the design of the handle, the knife not only looks amazing, it also feels great in hand. The pin that secures the handle to the steel is made from a titanium bronze alloy. It is a lightweight and rock-solid material with a stunning brown-bronze colour. The bolster, which separates the blade from the handle, is also made from this material.
