The **CRKT M16** is probably the most iconic CRKT model ever designed. This knife, designed by Kit Carson, is an homage to the M16 assault rifle, and has been around for quite some time. The M16 is suitable for both professional use and EDC use. Perfect for those who appreciate the tactical looks of this knife.

## D2 steel spearpoint blade

This version of the CKRT M16 has a pointy spearpoint blade shape. A cool blade shape suitable for penetrating tasks and cutting tasks where a strong tip is necessary. D2 steel is known for its exceptional toughness and wear resistance, making it perfect for knives and tools that need to retain their sharpness for a long time. However, this steel is not very corrosion resistant. The blade has a Desert Tan Titanium Nitride coating for a cool look, which also makes the steel more resistant to corrosion. D2 steel is not completely stainless.

## Kit Carson flipper

You can easily open the knife with the help of the Carson Flipper. When opened, this knife also serves to protect your fingers. The blade rotates on IKBS ball bearings, making opening and closing of the knife very smooth.

## GRN handle with Automated Liner Safety

The handle is made from GRN (glassfibre-reinforced nylon). A special feature of the M16 series is the 'Automated Liner Safety' safety system. It is basically a double lock making it almost impossible to accidentally close the blade. This safety system in combination with the rock-solid liner lock make the CRKT M16 almost as strong as a fixed knife.
