A huge knife! I bought this knife because I had been looking for a large Bowie knife for quite some time. It is pretty close to the original, the W49 Western Bowie from the 18th century, which was used for hunting and self-defence. Because it arrived quite oily, with a strange grease-like paste on it, I first had to clean it thoroughly and polish various marks away with "Flitz". Now it really looks great! The overall build quality is completely fine for this price. The 1050 carbon steel is also a good choice. I did, however, throw away that ugly plastic cord straight away and replace it with leather. I use it as an outdoor and camping knife, where it has already proved itself well and keeps attracting admiring looks and questions.
