Materials of the Doble O Knives Ronin 2.2

Like its predecessor, the 2.2 features the characteristic modified Sleipner tanto blade with three functional cutting edges: a hollow grind for precision work, a flat grind for applying force, and a false edge for improved penetration. One of the upgrades compared to the Ronin 2.1 is the Ferric Perchlorate finish. This is not a coating, but a chemical treatment that darkens the blade without adding an extra layer. As a result, the finish does not wear off, the surface reflects very little light, and signs of use are less noticeable.

Equipment of the Doble O Knives Ronin 2.2

The biggest advancement lies in its equipment. While the Ronin 2.1 was already a strong and well-thought-out knife, the 2.2 positions itself as a complete system. It comes with both a modular Kydex sheath and a leather sheath, including an Ulticlip, integrated flashlight adapter, and a specially designed Olight i3E EOS flashlight. After more than 35 years of collecting knives and 7 years of experience as a knife maker, Ovidio Calvet decided to turn his passion into a professional brand. From his workshop in Mexico City, he launched Doble O Knives, which appeared on the radar of enthusiasts worldwide in early 2020. The real breakthrough came around 2023–2024 with models such as the Ronin and the Odisey X. Today, Doble O Knives is a well-established name in the high-end segment of the knife world, where uniqueness, craftsmanship, and rarity always take priority.
