The Shapton Glass Stone Seven are stunning sharpening stones. Contrary to what you might expect from the name, the glass doesn't do the sharpening. You sharpen on a top-quality, Japanese water stone. A layer of tempered glass is attached to this to prevent bending. These stones are suitable for sharpening almost all types of knives. From outdoor knives to kitchen knives, from pocket knives to chisels. These stones really come into their own with hard steels in particular. Think of the modern powder steel types that you will find with pocket knives in the high segment.

The stones look a lot like the 'regular' Glass Stones. With these stones you also quickly remove a lot of material. The difference can be found in the size of the stones and the thickness of the layer of sharpening particles. ## Use

These sharpening stones are *splash & go*. That means you don't have to submerge it in water before use. You sprinkle them with some water and the sharpening can begin. The material is removed quickly so sharpening goes very fast. This also means the stone doesn't wear out as fast. To increase the lifespan, the glass plate ensures that you can use the stones to the limit. Even if the stones have gotten thinner after years of use.

the sharpening result remains very even. The sharpening particles, made from white aluminium oxide, are very uniform in their shape and size. The minuscule "scratches" you add to your edge with these stones are therefore very even. You won't find it causing larger scratches that are difficult to file away with a finer grit. Buena piedra para acabado de navajas de afeitar y y navajas de mano. El tamaño es bueno y se puede utilizar bien, dando un afilado muy agudo y deja los biseles muy brillantes.

It does its job, but if you do too many passes the edge becomes rough. I did 10 passes on a filarmonica 13, I could shave with it but I did not enjoy it. I retried with 6 and it was much better. For the price is a good alternative to Naniwa 12k or the more expensive Shaptons or Suehiro.

Non sono completamente convinto di qiesta pietra. Possiedo anche la shapton glass seven 1.2.
Premetto che le uso con un sistema ad angolo guidato (ruixin 009) e la cosa positiva è che la dimensione è perfetta per usarlo con questo tipo di sistemi. 
Parlando dei difetti la pietra seppur piatta è spessa 6mm a un estremo e 7mm nell'altro estremo... Probabilmente sarà un difetto della mia però per ovvie ragioni altera leggermente l'angolo mentre si scorre sulla pietra.
Per quanto riguarda la finitura che lascia sulla lama, direi che non vedo molte differenze con la 1.2, sicuramente non si vede ad occhio nudo (entrambe mi danno un ottima finitura a specchio) e sicuramente non trovo dirlfferenze a livello di capacità di taglio.
Osservando al microscopio lo scratch pattern é più sottile rispetto alla 1.2 sebbene mi dia la sensazione che sia però meno regolare, come se ci fossero delle impurità che creano di tanto in tanto dei solchi più profondi,  cosa che invece non noto nella shapton 1.2 che ha uno scratch pattern molto regolare. 
Non so se possa essere la mia leggermente difettosa .
