This **Shapton Glass Stone** sharpens quickly and evenly. Exactly what you might expect from a high-quality sharpening stone. However, unlike what the name might suggest you won’t sharpen on glass. You sharpen on a high-quality Japanese water stone enhanced with a layer of low tempered glass to make sure it won’t bend. This stone can be used to sharpen practically any type of knife. From outdoor knives to kitchen knives and from pocket knives to chisels. Especially when you have a hard type of steel these stones will stand out. Think of the modern types of powdered steel you often find in high end pocket knives.


This sharpening stone is truly *splash & go*. This means that you don’t have to soak it in water beforehand. You simply splash it with a little bit of water and you are ready to go. It quickly removes material so sharpening will be done in no time. As such your stones will be sharper a lot quicker and you won’t wear out the stone as much. To extend the life of the stone the glass layer ensures that you can use the entire stone. Even when, after years of sharpening, the stone has gotten a lot thinner.


The sharpening results are very even. The little particles that do all the work, made from white aluminium oxide, are very uniform in terms of size and measurements. Excellent value for money! It is worth investing money on those stones rather than having 100 water stones that go off faster and do a slower job. It all depends on the purpose of course. After years of sharpening I have more than happy with those. highly recommended!

Très bien, j'utilise ces pierres depuis peu et c'est super efficace rien à voir avec les aiguiseurs bon marché... Il faut toutefois prendre le coup de main. J'utilise du 320 / 1000 et 6000 pour la finition.
