This Hori Hori garden knife is now my favourite gardening tool, I highly recommend it.

I bought this with a 50% reduction, in this case it's excellent value for money. It is for a gift, so I haven't really used it myself. It comes sharp enough to cut paper. No need for razor-sharp blade on a soil knife. The serrations are large, they could be sharpened with my Victorinox pen-style ceramic sharpener. Grip seems comfortable, even if some people apparently prefer to round off the handle's edges to improve comfort during intensive work. Overall it looks very solid but still my main criticism is that it isn't full tang - this would have been an useful feature for such a heavy-duty item, sometimes used to leverage compacted earth while digging. Also, a finger guard could be useful to prevent slipping, since you use this knife to "stab" the soil. The sheath is a cheap imitation leather but does its job.
