The **Fox Knives FX-140XL MI Green Canvas Micarta Knivesandtools Exclusive** is a large fixed knife, designed by German knife maker Markus Reichart. His knives are meant to be used. Functionality is paramount. You can clearly see that in this knife. All shapes, finishes and materials are carefully thought through.

This is a special edition of the Fox Knives FX-140XL. It's a Knivesandtools Exclusive! That means this version was made especially for Knivesandtools, and sold exclusively on our website.

The blade is made from Niolox steel. A German type of tool steel that is fairly stainless but when exposed to salt and acids can stain a little. When it comes to sharpness retention Niolox is similar to D2 steel, but it is more resistant against chipping. It has a fine structure and it is easy to sharpen. The large blade is no less than 5 mm thick. As such, this knife is perfect for the more demanding use. For example, batoning wood or other tasks.

For this Knivesandtools Exclusive, we chose a handle made of green canvas micarta. Looks amazing and it offers you a lot of grip. The shape of the handle makes sure your hand won't move during use. A great detail is the micarta that runs all the way to the beginning of the blade. Very user-friendly. The end of the handle is enhanced with a lanyard hole to attach a piece of paracord. You can carry the Fox Knives FX-140XL in the stunning, black leather sheath.

Grossartiger Outdoor-Allrounder zu einem wirklich tollen Preis.
Ab Werk scharf, aber geht besser. Habe den werksseitigen Schleifwinkel von ca. 25 Grad auf 23 Grad Rasierschärfe geschliffen und ist jetzt so wie ich es mir für alle Bushcraft-Arbeiten vorstelle. Der in meinen Augen grossartige Niolox-Stahl zeigte wie erwartet keine Ausbrüche nach Hacken und Batonieren von Buchenholz. Auch die Schärfe hält sich Dank der 60HRC Härte recht gut und die Schneide lässt sich mit akzeptablem Aufwand nachschleifen.
Griff liegt sehr gut in der Hand, auch für grössere Hände.
Danke an den Designer für die beiden zusätzlichen Löcher am Griff ! Wer schon mal Gras geschnitten hat, weiss wovon ich rede und kennt sicher den Flexicord-Trick um die Hand damit zu entlasten.
Last-but-not-least: Kein Jimping (die nervigen Rillen, wenn man ohne Handschuhe arbeitet), ich hab' Euch lieb !

Als liefhebber van outdoor-activiteiten waaronder feathersticks maken, brandhout maken en vuurbogen bouwen, heb ik deze Fox uitgebreid getest. Dit mes heeft mijn verwachtingen overtroffen en is uitgegroeid tot één van mijn favoriete metgezel voor mijn avonturen in de natuur.

Een van de meest opvallende aspecten van dit mes is de uitstekende bouwkwaliteit. De Green Canvas Micarta handgreep voelt niet alleen stevig en duurzaam aan, maar biedt ook een uitstekende grip, zelfs onder vochtige omstandigheden. Het ergonomische ontwerp past perfect in mijn hand, waardoor langdurig gebruik comfortabel blijft zonder vermoeidheid.
Ik ben vooral onder de indruk van hoe gemakkelijk ik met dit mes hout kan bewerken zonder dat het lemmet aan scherpte verliest maar voor het fijnere werk is het ietwat zwaar en groot.

Wat betreft duurzaamheid heeft de Fox Knives FX-140XL MI mijn verwachtingen overtroffen. Ondanks het zware gebruik en de ruwe omstandigheden waarin ik het mes heb ingezet, vertoont het nog steeds minimale tekenen van slijtage. De uitstekende corrosiebestendigheid van het lemmet en de stevigheid van de handgreep maken dit mes echt geschikt voor avonturen in alle weersomstandigheden.

Ik kan het ten zeerste aanbevelen aan elke avonturier die op zoek is naar een betrouwbaar en hoogwaardig vaststaand mes.

Ich habe mir das gleiche Messer mit dem schwarzen Griff für den Wald, und dieses mit grünem Griff für die Vitrine gekauft. Ich bin hochzufrieden und stolz auf diese Werkzeuge.
