This **Zippo Classic Armor lighter** is even stronger than the standard Zippo lighters. The metal is approximately 1.5 times as thick. Therefore this lighter can handle it's own!


## Zippo lighters


Zippo lighters have been produced ever since 1932. The American company has almost become a synonym for this type of lighter. Everyone has seen them! The function of the wick that hangs in a fuel tank is characteristic for this lighter. By rotating the wheel alongside a flint the sparks will hit the wick. As such it will light up. A wind catcher is fitted around the wick. As such the Zippo has been quite wind-resistant for dozens of years, even before storm lighters emerged.



Zippo's have always been a part of life. Amongst (survival) enthusiasts and collectors. The simple technique of a Zippo is a lot easier to 'troubleshoot' in the field than the modern lighter.



## Using your Zippo for the first time


A zippo lighter is empty upon delivery. As such you need to [fill it before use](https://www.zippo.com/pages/how-to-fill-your-zippo-lighter). The best thing you can do is use the original Zippo lighter fluid, but benzene is also possible. We are, unfortunately, not able to ship lighter fluid because of safety reasons.

Deze armored zippo is van iets dikker materiaal gemaakt en voelt iets zwaarder en meer solide, wel redelijk vergelijkbaar met de normale versie.
Het kenmerkende geluid bij het openen is iets minder hoog door de materiaal dikte, geeft nog steeds hetzelfde fijne gevoel en geluid, heb het getest naast een normale zippo met dezelfde insert.

Het is een mooie en leuke aansteker die lang meegaat. Hou er wel rekening mee dat je hem eens in de 1 a 2 weken moet bijvullen. Tenzij je aan een korte vlam genoeg hebt, dan gaat hij langer mee.

Ik gebruik hem voor het aanmaken van de vuurkorf en wat kaarsen. Ook is het leuk om er gewoon mee te spelen. Er zullen  beter aanstekers zijn qua functionaliteit, maar als hebbeding en het plezier in gebruik is het echt een aanrader.
