The Ruike P123-ME completely changed my perception of what a budget folding knife can be. From the moment I opened it, the knife felt far more refined than its price would suggest. The satin finish on the blade looks clean and premium, the lines of the design are aggressive without being overdone, and the entire knife has that “serious tool” feeling that many budget knives fail to achieve. What really impressed me is the balance between toughness and cutting performance. The 14C28N steel is absolutely the right choice here — stainless, easy to maintain, takes an incredibly keen edge, and performs reliably for real everyday use. Ruike’s heat treatment on this steel continues to prove why so many enthusiasts respect the brand. The action is also outstanding. Fast, crisp deployment with a very satisfying feel, solid lockup, excellent centering, and zero sense of cheapness anywhere in the mechanism. It honestly feels like a knife designed by people who understand what users actually care about: reliability, ergonomics, and clean execution. Ergonomically, the P123-ME is excellent. The handle shape locks naturally into the hand, giving a lot of confidence during use, and the overall profile carries surprisingly well in the pocket for a knife that feels this robust. What I appreciate most about Ruike is that they consistently focus on functional quality instead of marketing hype. Many people in the knife community describe Ruike knives as some of the best value-for-money folders available, and after handling the P123-ME, I completely understand why. The P123-ME is not trying to imitate expensive knives — it stands confidently on its own merits. Solid construction, excellent steel, great action, practical design, and remarkable fit and finish for the price. An outstanding knife and an easy recommendation for anyone who appreciates honest engineering and dependable performance.

The knife is great. Sharp ou of the box, very light and has thin profile to carry in you pocket. Micarta offers firm grip and the scalloped grips feel great in you hand. I can not see, why this particular model does not enjoy more attention in public. It is a great knife, and I would dare to say it is even better than the famous P831. The 14C28N requires more frequent sharpening but it is very easy to sharpen and maintains its edge for quite some time. I prefer it to D2 or other harder steels, where you need a lot of time to resharpen or maybe even need diamond stones. The mechanism is good, feels solid and will function in the years to come. I have tried it on meat, wood, in the sea, sea fruits and oysters, it does the job well. And the blue colour looks great. Well done Ruike!
