Stroopwafels and Neder(lander): let a foreigner try to pronounce it and you’ll know how special this knife is. Ergonomically well thought out. Sharp and sturdy for everyday use. I’m glad I managed to get one, but next to the (Neder)Lander 4, and for what it costs, it feels a bit underwhelming. I don’t say that because it’s a bad knife — far from it — but I get the impression they didn’t put quite as much love into it as they did into the neck knife. There you can really see the pattern better, with the unevenness and imperfections that feel much more like stroopwafels. This one looks more like those square biscuits you get with ice cream. On top of that, when you carry it in your pocket with the clip, the lanyard on the sheath keeps rubbing against the tip/edge, wearing it down until it eventually snaps. I don’t know; overall it leaves me feeling rather empty, although I am pleased to have got it. The SAKs do the Stroopwafel pattern much more to my taste; there it’s done properly. For me the order is: the SAKs first (I’m hoping to get a Spartan soon, by the way), then the (Neder)Lander 4, which I already liked less than the one on the Huntsman, though that was understandable because they’re different products and you could make sense of it. Even so, I thought it looked realistic, despite being so different from the SAK. And then the (Neder)Lander 2: a shame, because if I already liked the stroop pattern less than on the SAKs, here it’s become even more artificial. It does tie the set together, but it doesn’t quite match, and even the colour of each scale is slightly different. For everything else, we all know the knife’s features are tremendous. I’m leaving my most honest review here, focused on the overall “Stroopwafels EDC Dutch” set and on how it doesn’t come together the way it should with the neck knife, so I can’t rate this product higher than 3. I’d have loved for it to have been a top-5 item and for them to make a better pair. I hope this helps someone. I jumped in so I wouldn’t miss it, and now I feel rather... empty. It looked like I was buying the ideal partner for the (Neder)Lander 4, but after receiving it, holding it in hand and using it for a few days... Knafs... Ben P... you could have nailed this, mate!! ;)

In my view, this is a really well-designed knife. It’s light, yet at the same time robust. The nylon handle is tough and, thanks to its shaping, sits very well in the hand. Of all the locking systems I’ve used on folding knives, this blade lock is my favourite. As for the S35VN blade, it almost speaks for itself. I’ve been using it every day for about two months now and, honestly, I’m extremely happy with it. I’d buy it again in a heartbeat! Really well done on such an excellent product. Best regards
