The **Katadyn Pocket Black Edition** is similar in performance to the standard Katadyn Pocket, but in a fully tactical black body. The Pocket is Katadyn's most robust filter. Made from high-quality, durable materials like aluminium and stainless steel, it can withstand the toughest conditions. This is the main reason why extreme adventurers swear by the Pocket. You also receive a 20-year warranty on this water filter. 

## How to use the Pocket filter

The Pocket pumps quickly, is relatively lightweight and easy to use, and makes the water taste great. The improved, round pump handle provides you with better ergonomics and the outlet hose can be attached to water containers with a simple clip. It is easy to operate. Submerge the hose with plunger in the water, then pump and you will have filtered water. The hose is equipped with a pre-filter to filter out the largest contamination, as well as a float. The float keeps the nozzle of the hose at an ideal depth. Not too deep, because then you will be bothered by mud, but also not directly on the surface of the water, because this is where most bacteria are located.

## Katadyn Pocket filter

The filter treats approximately 1 litre of water per minute and removes bacteria, protozoa and other pathogens. The microorganisms can't pass the pores of the filter (0.2 microns) because of their size. The 0.2 micron filter element can be used to filter approximately 55,000 litres. This is a massive amount in comparison to other water filters. The included measuring gauge tells you when you need to replace the filter element.

The Pocket can be packed down to a manageable size. It isn't the smallest filter on the market, but, with dimensions of 24 x 6 cm and a weight of only 550 grams, it will still easily slide into a daypack or backpack.
