Fällkniven G1z Garm Fighter

Small but beautifully formed. This knife is designed for one purpose, the clue is in the name. Is it a practical everyday knife, no. Will it appeal to those who appreciate lovely lines, quality and craftsmanship, yes. I have had an interest in small dagger type boot/fighting knives since reading the survivalist books in the 1970's where the hero carries the sting, now made by CRKT as part of his carefully chosen kit. I have had a couple of stings, one stainless the other in black both of which are no more. Then I saw the Garm. Same form factor taken to a whole new level. 20CV steel, and a grind that takes it from the Sunday league to the premiership. Comfortable and agile you have to see and hold it to fully understand and appreciate it. The only thing I don't like is the sheath. Has a high belt loop, which could be removed but it is not really designed for anything else. You could neck carry but would need the loop attached as it has a retaining strap for the knife. Obviously you could only carry it in the privacy of your home, "unless you are a professional." With a need for such a thing. But I think if Jerry Ahern had seen a Garm when writing the Survivalist series, this is what his hero would have carried. More expensive than the sting, but so worth it.
