The Extrema Ratio KS is a more compact and versatile machete with a forward cut ideal for individual equipment. Blade length: 24,5 cm. Blade steel: N690 (54HRC). Including semi-rigid calf sheath.


The "kukri", a Nepalese tool made famous by the Gurkha regiment on Her Majesty's Service is also derived from the ancient Greek swords; it is simply a machete with a forward cut. The forward cutting blade allows it to work like an axe while maintaining the versatility of the long blade. This series was developed based on a fusion of modern and antique concepts. The sheath is semi-rigid with thigh straps and an extension.

Un kukri d'excellente qualité, très solide et efficace comme d'habitude avec extrema ratio. Couteau bien équilibré et pas trop lourd. La version longue KH se rapproche trop de la machette, là, avec le KS c'est juste parfait pour la versatilité.

Niet goedkoop, maar zeer roboost kapmes dat ook bij levering reeds vlijmscherp was. Het mes is als klein hakmes te gebruik en is stevig genoeg om ook als kleine bijl dienst te doen. Maar het is eveneens geschikt voor relatief fijn snijwerk, al kan het een gewoon zakmes niet vervangen.

De bijgeleverde snede is ook zeer degelijk, maar niet comfortabel om te gebruiken in combinatie met een korte broek.
In de veronderstelling dat dit mes (mits goed onderhoud) een leven lang mee gaat is het zijn prijs wel waard. Alleen zal het bijslijpen vanwege de vorm geen eenvoudig werkje zijn.
