The **Bark River Mini Kalahari** is a stunning hunting knife, designed for small to average-sized game. This knife is the small version of the larger Kalahari Hunter. The handle is ergonomically shaped, so it is perfect for long-term use. The blade has a substantial belly, which is ideal for skinning as it means you can't unintentionally puncture anything. The spine of the tip has a false edge, or swedge. The blade shape might therefore remind you of a classic clip point. The Mini Kalahari is a hunting knife that will be right at home in any hunting ground.


The blade is made from A2 tool steel, a strong steel that would rather bend than break. You do, however, need to be careful with moisture and acids: A2 is not completely stainless. Make sure to clean it after use and occasionally apply a drop of oil to keep this knife in great shape. The edge has a convex grind that can be maintained by [stropping it](/en/ct/stropping.htm).



The handle is made from Desert Ironwood, a type of hardwood mainly found in the United States and Mexico. It has a distinctive colour and a beautiful grain pattern. This stunning wood makes the knife look extra luxurious. 



The Bark River Mini Kalahari comes with a leather belt sheath. You can carry it either upright (belt width up to 5.5 cm) or diagonally (belt width up to 6.0 cm).



Bark River Knives makes all of its knives almost entirely by hand. This means that each knife is unique. Especially when working with natural materials, a knife may differ from the photos. Therefore the knife you receive might be subtly different from the product photos. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same.
