The **Victorinox Pioneer Farmer Alox** is a robust Swiss pocket knife from the Pioneer's series. The pioneer is slightly bigger than most Victorinox pocket knives. For example, the Farmer is larger than the Victorinox Cadet and the knife has an extra saw and awl instead of a nail file. Because of the larger size and longer and thicker blade the Pioneer is perfect for the more demanding daily tasks.

 Remarkable about this pocket knife is the ridged Alox handle. They are slim, sustainable and it looks amazing. In addition, wear and tear is hardly visible. Even more important: Because of this finish you have enough grip to safely start using your pocket knife. The knives weigh next to nothing and easily fit inside your pocket or tool box. ### Knife


The knife is razor-sharp and has a cutting edge of at least 6 cm. When opening and closing the blade you hear a familiar click. The knife is very solid and perfect for outdoor and survival purposes.


### Wood saw


Branches up to wrist thickness are no problem for this wood saw. The saw is thin. The spine is approximately 1.2 mm thick and the teeth 1.6 mm thick. Because the spine is smaller than the teeth the saw won't get stuck in the wood and it limits friction. In addition to living wood this saw can handle pallets and shelves.


### Awl


What do you use an awl for? For all tasks you wouldn't use the tip of your knife! The awl has a one-sided grind. As such it is great to make markings on wood. Which side of the line should you adhere to when you mark something with a pencil? With an awl this isn't a problem. In addition, it is very practical to use an awl to prick into soft metals. To mark where you should drill for instance.

Mon premier Alox de chez Victorinox. J'ai été surpris de recevoir un couteau huilé et une lame un peu décentrée au point d'être courbée sur la longueur du pivot jusqu'à la pointe. C'est peut-être normal, je ne sais.
Cela n'empêche pas le couteau d'être fonctionnel, beau et compact car il n'y a pas d'accessoires au dos comme sur mes autres couteaux suisses.
