The **Spyderco Manix 2 Dark Blue G10 S110V** is a special edition of a famous pocket knife. With its ball bearing lock the Manix 2 has been a fixed mark in the Spyderco collection for years. For this Dark Blue collection Spyderco chose a remarkable material for the handle and an exclusive type of steel.




The blade is made from CPM S110V steel. A type of steel which great features when it comes to sharpness retention. The molecular structure of the steel is very fine and tight. As such the edge retains its shape, and sharpness for a really long time. It is quite challenging to sharpen but not impossible with the right tools and a little patience.




The blue handle is the part that gave the Manix 2 Dark Blue its name. Light-weight and rock-solid: G10. Some enthusiasts have described this material as *blurple*. A combination of *blue* and *purple*.

ein Klasse Messer mit einem Klasse Stahl, mehr gibt es dazu auch nicht zu sagen

Ein Spyderco wie man es erwartet. Der Lock scheint bombenfest, bedienbar, wie alle Messer des Herstellers, top! Ein rattenscharfer Slicer, starkes Gebrauchsmesser und super in der Hand liegendes EDC in entsprechender Größe. Der Stahl erscheint bis jetzt extrem schnitthaltig, ob jedem der Aufpreis für den 110er das ganze Wert ist muß man halt selber wissen, falsch ist er aber definitiv nicht!

Dit is een geweldig goed mes. De afwerking is nagenoeg perfect: het mes kwam vlijmscherp uit de doos en is perfect gecentreerd. De donker blauw/paarse scales vind ik zelf prachtig en ze bieden een hoop grip. Ergonomisch is het mes ook zeer goed ontworpen en comfortabel om vast te houden, zelfs als je meer in het mes knijpt voor het maken zware sneden. Het ball bearing lock systeem biedt een zeer solide lockup en is met één hand goed te bedienen. Net uit de doos was het lock nog vrij stroef om te bedienen, maar dit is snel ingebroken en nu is het mes zeer soepel, zowel bij openen met de duim als bij een reverse flick.

Het enige minpuntje is de pocket clip. Deze is niet erg praktisch en ook niet zo comfortabel, je voelt hem vrij goed als je het mes stevig vastgrijpt. Helaas kan ik bij dit mes de pocketclip niet verwijderen, want je hebt de clip nodig om de ball bearing lock met één hand te kunnen bedienen. Bij het bedienen van de lock met één hand blijven je pink en ringvinger namelijk tegen de pocketclip aan leunen, en zo kan je dan kracht zetten met je duim en wijsvinger om het lock naar achter te trekken en zo te disengagen. Ondanks het minpuntje krijgt dit mes van mij toch 5 sterren, en kan ik het iedereen aanraden.
