The **Ruike LD42** is a pocket knife with multiple tools. A bit like a Swiss pocket knife, but not from Switzerland. The Ruike LD42 offers you a one-handed opening pocket knife with double lock. Double lock? Yes! The knife is traditionally stopped by a slipjoint. Exactly like you have grown accustomed to from the famous red pocket knives. In addition to the slipjoint, Ruike added a linerlock to the handle. This linerlock makes sure the slipjoint doesn't accidentally close. An incredibly safe system, perfect when you use your pocket knife for the more demanding tasks. The blade is made from Swedish Sandvik 12C27 steel. A stainless type of steel that is easy to sharpen.


The handle of the Ruike LD pocket knives is made from black G10. This is a light-weight composite material made from fibreglass and plastic. Incredibly strong and it offers you a lot of grip. A sustainable choice for a pocket knife you use for years.


The end of the handle is enhanced with a tungsten carbide glass breaker. This rock-solid material will break any car window. In case of an emergency you will therefore quickly be able to free yourself or someone else. Less known, but also very practical is the add engravings with such a sharp tip. With it you can engrave your initials in objects to make sure everyone knows they are yours. Think of tools that are sometimes borrowed.



The last tool in this pocket knife is somewhat hidden: the tweezers. Next to the glass breaker it sticks out just below the G10 handle. Great when removing splinters.

Très bon couteau multi fonctions, quelques petites choses sur le contrôle qualité, le ciseau coupe très bien mais sur le mien il est difficile d'ouvrir les branches complètement ce qui posera un problème pour l'affutage, mais bon je ferais avec. Je n'aurais pas du prendre le 41 mais plutôt le 31 la lame de scie est plutôt une rape (comme sur d'autres marques d'ailleurs) l'inclinaison des dents vers le manche, du type des scies japonaises serait plus judicieux c'est ce qui se faisait d'ailleurs sur les Dreizack à Solingen dans les années 50 et ça c'est efficace.
L'outil coupe ceinture devrait être ouvrable que d'une seule main et le brise vitre devrait être de l'autre côté du manche, ainsi d'un seul geste on pourrait s'extraire d'un véhicule accidenté.
Globalement je ne regrette pas mon achat, c'est de la qualité, sa destination étant ma voiture, il remplira son rôle parfaitement, mais je n'espère pas un accident pour le tester en rescue.

Na het kwijtraken van mijn zoveelste victorinox, besloten op zoek te gaan naar een alternatief met een broekclip. Bijkomend voordeel van een clip is dat het ook lekkerder in je broekzak voelt. Ik was blij verrast met de kwaliteit van dit multifunctionele mes. Ik vergelijk hem dan met een groter victorinox en dan doet hij zeker niet onder voor de zwitserse marktleider. Bouwkwaliteit is misschien zelfs beter. Schaar is bijvoorbeeld veel slimmer en degelijker gemaakt. De veer van een victorinox heeft toch de neiging in de loop der tijd iets zijn veerkracht te verliezen en dat zie ik bij deze vooralsnog niet gebeuren. Zaag lijkt indentiek aan victorinox. Pincet is veel degelijker. Tandenstoker is afwezig. Heel erg stevig lemmet. Er is heel goed naar victorinox gekeken en vervolgens hebben ze geprobeerd deze concurrent niet enkel te evenaren, maar een beter mes op de markt te brengen. Dat is in sommige aspecten ook zeker gelukt. Ik moet nog kijken hoe het mes in de loop der tijd gaat uithouden, maar nu na een paar dagen is de indruk erg goed. 
Wat beter zou kunnen? Door de degelijke bouw is het mes aan de zware kant. Van mij zou er lichter materiaal gebruikt mogen worden voor bepaalde onderdelen en dan zou ik ook bereid zijn er meer voor te betalen. Dus let op: aan de zware kant. Verder is de 'eenhandsopening' voor linkshandigen altijd een issue. Maar ook voor rechtshandigen is deze niet heel makkelijk te openen. Je komt bij het openen onderweg nog een veiligheidsstop tegen en het openen gaat vrij zwaar omdat de knobbel dichtbij het scharnierpunt zit, wat heel fijn is zodra hij geopend is. Ik zou dit mes liever met mijn nagel openen. Verder een heel klein beetje speling op de 'linerlock' vergrendeling, maar daar zal je in gebruik niks van merken. Als het mes qua gewicht lichter zou zijn, zou ik 'm 5 sterren kunnen geven, maar dit mes is ondertussen zijn prijs helemaal waard. Kortom: een aanrader.

Visserie de qualité médiocre, léger jeu axial de la lame qui peut être dérangeant.
Jeu latéral de la lame si les vis ne sont pas assez serrées, mais quand elles sont bien serrées l'ouverture est trop ferme. L'ouverture du poinçon est laborieuse et dangereuse pour les doigts. Bon complément à mon victorinox cybertool.

Mijn oude vertrouwde, ooit op straat gevonden, zakmes is onlangs verloren gegaan. Was nog gemaakt van carbon steel en dus vlijmscherp te slijpen. Vooral ook de kurkentrekker was een welkom en veelgebruikt accessoire. Een nieuw zakmes dus. De keuze viel op de Ruike LD42-B. De gebruikte staalsoort is wat mij betreft prima en zeer geschikt om enige dagen onbekommerd te gebruiken ( anders dan koolstof staal dat je toch wel nauwkeurig dient te onderhouden). De kwaliteit van de Ruike is onberispelijk, alles werkt soepel en naar behoren. Vooral de kurkentrekker, de blikopener, het schaartje en de pincet zijn prima hulpmiddelen. Voorzichtigheid is geboden met de belt cutter. Deze blijft in schuine stand omhoog staan en is net als het mes, erg scherp. Je kan jezelf vrij snel licht verwonden tijdens het uitklappen, inklappen.  Voor: zeer solide zakmes met nuttige accessoires, werkvergrendeling van het mes. De kwaliteit is voelbaar aanwezig. Daardoor is het geen lichte tool en als zodanig niet direct een zakmes om constant in je broekzak te dragen.  Aan je riem in een apart tasje of in je rugzak zal het je vele jaren nuttige diensten bewijzen.
