This is not a splitting Axe. It’s for carving and cutting only. The head is thinner than the wooden handle, so if you try to split with it you will damage the wood. The handle is also not as hard/sturdy as a typical Gransfors Hickery handle but it is quite decorative. A good axe if used for what it was meant for!
