The **Kershaw Mini Iridium 2051 DuraLock, Stonewashed D2, Ice Blue Aluminium** is a smaller version of the Iridium, an impressive pocket knife from Kershaw. Perfect for everyday use. The knife is equipped with Kershaw's DuraLock, which is very similar to the well-known Axis lock. With this lock, you easily close the knife with one hand. It's suitable for right-handed users and left-handed users. Because this lock is in the back of the handle, you unlock the blade without your fingers coming near the sharp edge. The mechanism is very smooth, so the knife has a high fidget-factor. This small variant is perfect for those who prefer a slightly smaller pocket knife for everyday use.




The Kershaw Mini Iridium 2051 DuraLock, Stonewashed D2, Ice Blue Aluminum pocket knife is a cool EDC knife in the colour blue, gold. With its blade length of 7,5 cm, this knife is suitable for daily cutting tasks. For example, opening boxes, peeling an apple, the odd job around the house: this pocket knife can do it all.



Opening the Kershaw Mini Iridium 2051 DuraLock, Stonewashed D2, Ice Blue Aluminum pocket knife with one hand is very easy thanks to the thumb stud. Once opened, the sturdy Crossbar Lock ensures that the blade is locked and won't accidentally close during use. A cool feature of this lock is that it can be easily used by both left-handed and right-handed users.

The name 'Crossbar Lock' is a generic term for locks of this type. The foundation of this mechanism was the Axis Lock as developed by Benchmade. Today, several manufacturers happily make use of the same mechanism, though sometimes under different names.



## Blade made of D2 steel
The blade of the Kershaw Mini Iridium 2051 DuraLock, Stonewashed D2, Ice Blue Aluminum pocket knife is made of D2. This is a tool steel that has been used for all kinds of cutting tools since World War II. It is tough, easy to sharpen and retains its sharpness very well. Do take care around moisture and acids; D2 is not entirely stainless. It may discolour or even rust if not properly taken care of. Therefore, it's important to clean and dry the blade after use, and a drop of oil every once in a while can't hurt.



The ‘stonewash’ process was chosen for the finish of this blade. The stonewash process involves the blade being placed inside a drum with ceramic stones, or media, and then vibrated or tumbled for several hours. The result is a finish that looks precisely polished or roughened depending on the version. The advantage of stonewashing, however, is that signs of use are much less noticeable. That makes it a popular choice for knives that see a lot of use.

The handle of the Kershaw Iridium, Kershaw Original is made from aluminium. The handle measures 10 cm in length. Aluminium is pleasantly lightweight and easy for the manufacturer to work with. As a result, it is a very popular choice for handles. Aluminium comes in many different grades or alloys. Most manufacturers opt for one of the more durable types of aluminium for knife handles, often using the same quality as the type used for aircraft construction.
