The **Kershaw Bel Air KE6105BLK DuraLock, Black DLC CPM MagnaCut, Black Aluminum** is a pocket knife designed and made in the USA. The knife is made from high-quality materials, like MagnaCut steel. You open the blade with the thumb stud, which moves very smoothly thanks to the KVT ball bearings. The black DLC-coated reverse-tanto blade looks very cool in combination with the aluminium handle. The knife is equipped with Kershaw's DuraLock, which is very similar to the well-known Axis lock. With this lock, you easily close the knife with one hand. It's suitable for right-handed users and left-handed users. With this Kershaw, you'll be the prince of Bel Air!




The Kershaw Bel Air 6105BLK DuraLock, Black DLC CPM MagnaCut, Black Aluminum pocket knife is a nice EDC pocket knife in the colour black. With its blade length of 8 cm, this knife is ideal for easy carrying. When closed, it's only 10,5 cm long, and it weighs 85 g.



Opening the Kershaw Bel Air 6105BLK DuraLock, Black DLC CPM MagnaCut, Black Aluminum pocket knife with one hand is very easy thanks to the thumb stud. Once opened, the sturdy Crossbar Lock ensures that the blade is locked and won't accidentally close during use. A cool feature of this lock is that it can be easily used by both left-handed and right-handed users.

The name 'Crossbar Lock' is a generic term for locks of this type. The foundation of this mechanism was the Axis Lock as developed by Benchmade. Today, several manufacturers happily make use of the same mechanism, though sometimes under different names.



## Blade made of CPM Magnacut steel
The blade of this Kershaw Bel Air, Kershaw Original is made of CPM Magnacut steel, possibly the most revolutionary steel of the 21st century. MagnaCut offers an unrivalled balance between sharpness retention, toughness, corrosion resistance and ease of sharpening. Since the release of CPM MagnaCut in 2021, it has become one of the most popular steels in the world of knives. The MagnaCut blade of this pocket knife measures 8 cm in length.

## History of CPM Magnacut 
This type of steel was developed by Dr Larrin Thomas, a metallurgist who has dedicated his career to improving knife steel. He is the son of Devin Thomas, a famous damascus smith who supplied Chris Reeve Knives with steel for many years. Dr Larrin Thomas works in the automotive industry but is passionate about knife steels. He thought it should be possible to do better, and together with Crucible Industries came up with CPM MagnaCut. The blade is finished with a DLC coating, which stands for ‘Diamond Like Carbon’. It's a very hard coating that is even harder than the steel. This makes DLC very scratch-resistant, and this coating protects the blade against corrosion. DLC is very hard, but it is also only a thin layer: eventually, you will always see signs of use.



## Aluminium handle
The handle of the Kershaw Bel Air, Kershaw Original is made from aluminium. The handle measures 10,5 cm in length. Aluminium is pleasantly lightweight and easy for the manufacturer to work with. As a result, it is a very popular choice for handles. Aluminium comes in many different grades or alloys. Most manufacturers opt for one of the more durable types of aluminium for knife handles, often using the same quality as the type used for aircraft construction.
