This five-piece **Global knife set** is comprised of a 20 cm Global chef’s knife, Global G9 bread knife, Global GS11 flexible filleting knife, and the 8 cm Global GSF15 peeling knife. All Japanese knives made from top-quality Cromova 18 stainless steel. They are not only razor-sharp, thanks to the high chromium content they are also wear and tear resistant, corrosion resistant and easy to sharpen. The included knife block offers, in addition to the four included knives, enough room for a sharpening steel and six other knives. The perfect block to neatly store your complete Global collection.

## Dimensions of the block
This knife block has enough room for 11 knives. 4 slots are already filled with the chef’s knife, bread knife, filleting knife and the peeling knife. As such there is enough room to fill the block to your liking. We’ve made an overview of all 11 slots so you know which knives fit inside. The width of the opening is the maximum blade height, the depth is the maximum blade length of the knife that fits in the knife block.

## The edge as quality characteristic

In addition to the steel design, the edge might probably be the most striking feature of the Global knives. They are namely enhanced with a flat grind shaped like a V, which means they don’t have a secondary edge. The result is that the base of the blades is thinner than most kitchen knives. As such, when the absolute edge wears out a little, a Global knife is still even more amazing to use than you might expect.

## The ultimate balance thanks to … sand!
While practically every knife maker looks for a balance between the blade and handle with the so-called ‘full tang construction’, and the weight of the bolster, this isn’t enough for Global. The Japanese knife giant chooses to enhance its knives with hollow handles and filling them with the right amount of sand. As such you can precisely measure the balance of a knife and you honour the typical Japanese knife tradition. Japanese knives are usually not enhanced with bolsters because they can get in the way when you use or sharpen the knife.

## Global vs bacteria
The Global kitchen knives were designed keeping hygiene in mind. For instance, no fragile materials, such as wooden scales or rivets are used when producing these knives. The stainless steel handle seamlessly merges with the blade. As such bacteria don’t stand a chance.
