The **Gerber Fastball cleaver** is a cool EDC pocket knife, made in the United States. The term 'Fastball' comes from baseball. In this sport this is a type of fast throw. The Gerber Fastball opens quickly, so you see where this name comes from. A row of ball bearings was placed around the pivot, the so-called B.O.S.S. system. As such it will open quickly with the flipper.



This version of the Fastball is enhanced with a cleaver-style blade. You often see this type of blade on kitchen knives, and it is great for food prep and other daily tasks. When opened the blade is blocked by a solid linerlock. This makes sure that your fingers are not in any danger. Gerber used aluminium for the handle. As such the Fastball is, with its 80 grams, very light. The blade is made from CPM 20CV-steel. One of the most popular premium choices at the moment. It retains its sharpness well and is also corrosion resistant. Great features for a knife you use on a daily basis.

Very nice design, blade's sharp and slices very well thanks to its geometry. Texture of the aluminium is quite grippy. Good action.
Not a very big knife, easy to carry.
Would just have liked to see a deep carry pocket clip and a less shiny aspect of the stonewashed finish.
