The **Fenix PD40R V3.0** flashlight is a strong, rechargeable flashlight with super convenient controls: a turn-switch. The V3.0's light reaches 23% farther the V2.0! In addition, the strobe function is 500 lumens brighter and the lamp has improved its heat dissipation so the flashlight can remain in bright mode longer. With the magnetic ring you can easily choose the desired light mode. The advantage is that you don't have to switch through all light modes, because you can also easily switch back.

The Fenix PD40R V3.0 features a Luminus SFT70 LED. This type of LED light provides you with a wide 65° beam. At 3000 lumens, you even illuminate up to a distance of no less than 405 meters. This makes this flashlight useful in all types of situations.

## How to use the Fenix PD40R V3.0

Turn the switch to the desired light mode. Want to check which light mode you are using? The indication on the switch will always show you. For whenever you need it you can use the powerful strobe mode. Turn the switch all the way to the right and the strobe mode will continue to function.

  * Turbo: 3000 lumens, burn time of approx. 2 hours and 40 minutes*
  * High: 1000 lumens, burn time of approx. 3 hours and 10 minutes
  * Medium: 350 lumens, burn time of approx. 8 hours 30 minutes
  * Low: 30 lumens, burn time of approx. 89 hours
  * SOS: 320 lumens
  * Strobe: 3000 lumens

*The burn time of the highest light mode is calculated at the moment the lamp is switched on in the highest mode. After 2-3 minutes, the light automatically switches to a lower mode due to the temperature regulation.

## Charging the Fenix PD40R V3.0

The Fenix PD40R V3.0 is rechargeable. The head of the light contains a USB-C port. A rubber cover ensures that the flashlight is protected against water and dust.

You charge the included 21700 Li-Ion through this built-in USB-C port. The flashlight works with a ARB-L21-5000 battery. With an output of 5000 mAh, you have more than enough power available, but thanks to the [ALF-18 battery holder](/en/pt/-fenix-alf-18-battery-holder.htm) (not included), it also works on a 18650 Li-Ion battery. There's a charging indicator next to the charging port. Each time you turn the light on the indicator will directly show you the status of the battery. This indictor only works in combination with the Fenix 21700 Li-Ion battery.

## Prevent a too deeply discharged battery

Are you not using your flashlight for a while? Always make sure to unscrew the tail cap a little bit. This prevents your battery from becoming too deeply discharged. In fact, even when the light is off, it still draws some power from the battery. A battery that is too deeply discharged often cannot be recharged. That would be a shame!

Do you have a torch with built-in battery where you cannot remove the battery? Make sure to charge the light at least once every 3-4 months, even when not in use. This also prevents the battery from discharging too deeply, and it is good for the lifespan of your battery!

## Intelligent protection

If you use the turbo mode for a longer period of time the light will start to heat up. When the light reaches a temperature of 65 degrees Celsius or higher, the light will automatically drop the amount of lumen to lower the temperature. As soon as the temperature drops the light will switch back to the turbo mode.

Wat is dit een mooi stuk gereedschap! Ik de laagste stand ideaal om de weg naar je tent te vinden, in de hoogste stand super voor het sporten van wild op de Serengeti! Ogen lichten heel ver voor je al op en dat met dit makkelijk in de hand passende zaklamp en ook mega handig dat ie met usb-c op te laden is.

Dit is een do it all in een! De gids was er van onder de indruk en in een nacht Safari kon ik in het gras oude sporen voorndenauto vinden vanaf het dak!

Deze lamp is erg handig in gebruik, de draairing is een stuk beter te bedienen dan de standaard drukknoppen. Wat ik wel heb gemerkt is dat de draairing niet erg geschikt is voor stoffige omgevingen. Het stof komt dan tussen de draairing. 

Het is een zeer degelijke zaklamp met een gemakkelijke bediening. De meerdere standen op de zaklamp zijn erg interessant. De hoogste stand heeft een scherpte lichtstraal, wat bij de uit te voeren taken zeker van pas komt.

Snelle levering en goed op de hoogte gesteld van mijn bestelling. De Fenix pd40 r is snel en handig dmv de duim in te stellen. Om vol vermogen heb je een geweldige bundel licht . De volgende stappen gaat de lamp knipperen. Dit had voor mij geen meerwaarde en is enkel lastig . Wel fijn is dat het vermogen terug geregeld wordt en de lamp daardoor nooit te warm wordt 

Erg veel licht, makkelijk in gebruik.
Ik had verwacht dat de bundel instelbaar was, maar eigenlijk is het ontbreken geen gemis
