Instead, it should be carried in places that can be accessed easily, such as around your neck or in your pocket. It comes with a zytel sheath that can easily be attached to a cord or lanyard. The sheath also features a simple click lock system that protects both the user and the blade when the knife is not in use.   
  


The new laminate cobalt steel (for those interested, the composition is: C 1.1%. Cr. 16%. W 0.3%. Mo 1.5%. V 0.3%. Co 2.5%.) is extremely hard, although it is very unsusceptible to chipping. Another advantage is that this steel can be sharpened to achieve an edge keener than that achieved on other steels, such as VG10 or 3G steel, for instance. The most significant disadvantage is that it is considerably more expensive.

Das Fällkniven Kolt Knife ist mein drittes Fällkniven. Ich bin jedes Mal von der Verarbeitungsqualität begeistert. 
Dieses kleine feststehende Messer ist ideal, wenn man bspw. neben einem SAK ein robustes Outdoormesser fürs Grobe oder für die Jagd dabei haben möchte, das trotzdem wenig Platz braucht und sehr leicht ist. 
Ich habe zum Vergleich das ebenfalls tolle kleine Böker Barlow BFF, aber das ist für Männerhände einfach etwas zu klein und die Klinge ein wenig zu kurz für viele praktische Arbeiten. 
Das Kolt Knife ist gerade soviel länger, dass es optimal handhabbar und trotzdem immer noch extrem kompakt ist. Mit der Kydex verschwindet es problemlos in der Hosentasche, für Wanderungen empfiehlt sich die hochwertige Lederscheide. Der Griff ist optimal griffig, die Klinge unglaublich robust (der laminierte CoS Stahl, der auch beim F1 und GP zum Einsatz kommt, hat sich für mich bewährt). 
Selbstverständlich ist das KK aufgrund der Klingenstärke nicht ideal für Schnitzarbeiten oder als Kochmesser, aber dafür steckt es gröbere Arbeiten mit Bravour weg. 
Für mich ein idealer Begleiter auf Wanderungen oder bei Camping/OutdoorAktivitäten. Und es sieht meiner Meinung nach einfach phantastisch aus. Der Preis ist hier bei K&T nicht der günstigste, aber der Shop ist zuverlässig und vertrauenswürdig.
