The **EKA AxeBlade** is a type of hybrid between a fixed knife and an axe. On the one hand you have the length and the centre of gravity in the front like with an axe. On the other the blade is thin enough to take hold of it close to the edge for the more detailed tasks. By combining these two qualities this is a great companion for camping adventures where you cannot take too much gear with you. As such you replace a knife and an axe with one AxeBlade.



The blade of the AxeBlade is made from Sandvik 12C27 steel. A Swedish type of steel specifically developed for knives. It retains its sharpness well and is corrosion resistant. To protect the blade it is enhanced with a blackwashed coating. As such traces of use are hardly invisible.




The handle is made from G10. A light-weight composite material which, in this case, is enhanced with a wooden pattern. As such the AxeBlade looks more classic. You can carry it with you in the included kydex sheath. It is enhanced with a belt clip (max. belt width 5.0 cm). It comes with additional strap to make sure you can attach the bottom of the sheath to your leg to prevent it from dangling. You can, of course, also use this strap to hang the AxeBlade over your shoulder, whichever way you prefer.

Würde ich sie wieder kaufen, würde ich nicht auf Optik achten, sondern die „Gummigriff“ Variante wählen.
Bei hartem Holz gib es schon harte Schläge im Griff…

Un po una stranezza ma con mia sorpresa lavora molto meglio di quanto mi aspettassi, anche per lavori fini, fodero kydex buono solo la chiusura ho sostituito il bottone a pressione con velcro e ho unito sul fodero in kydex un secondo fodero in kydex con un lama fissa piccolo

Well made knife,  excellent service from Knives And Tools as usual. 

Très bon tranchant, bonne prise en main mais attention le centre d'équilibre est en moitié de lame. Étui convenable. Globalement satisfaisant.

Contra:
- no realy Kydex, axe falls out easily if the closure is open, Kydex just for vertical position, Kydex not for left handed (not mentioned in the description)
- no full tang, center of graphity not in the front as mentioned in the description, is in the midle of the axe, grip a little to short and blade not heavy enough for powerfull punches
