The **Cold Steel AD-15** is a large, robust pocket knife, designed by Andrew Demko. This American designer is responsible for a large part of Cold Steel's folding knife successes. The AD15 is another masterpiece. One of Demko's most famous inventions is the Tri-Ad lock. This rock-solid lock is often tested and proven to be the strongest on the market. This production version of Demko's custom AD-15 introduces another new locking mechanism: the Scorpion Lock. Just like a scorpion's tail hangs over its own body, the lockbar bends from the spine of the handle down to the blade. 

The lockbar is made from aluminium. It features a steel stop-pin which keeps the blade in place when opened. This happens in the cut-out in the back of the blade, similar to how a back lock works. What's unique about the Scorpion lock is that you also apply pressure to the lockbar during use. This means the construction is even stronger. You could even say that this is the ultimate combination of a back lock and a frame lock. After all, with a frame lock, your hand forms an integral part of the locking mechanism. With a little bit of practice, you can easily close the AD15 with one hand. Check out the product video to learn more.

You open the blade with the double thumb studs. The blade is made from AUS10A steel. This is a stainless steel with great sharpness retention. It's also easy to sharpen, which is good news for a knife that you'll use often.

The Cold Steel AD15 really looks a lot like the custom variant that Demko himself produces. Which isn't surprising: the same CAD drawings were used for the production of the Cold Steel. The only differences are in the materials used. For the custom, the lockbar is made from titanium and the scales are G10, and Demko uses a different type of steel for the blade.

The great thing about this pocket knife is that it can easily be used by left-handed and right-handed users.

Een Coldsteel zakmes degelijk als altijd bij Coldsteel , Maar dan met net even een andere vergrendeling ,die wennen is maar prima functioneert . uit interesse gekocht, bevalt zeker wel ,Er is een andere versie met beter staal voor wie dit een must is . 

Super Messer! Sehr stabil.Die günstigere Version des AD 15.Der Spaßfaktor ist bei dem Messer auch sehr groß.

The locking mech is cool and all but not very practical. Fall here, try jamming your frozen fingers in there. 

Great knife, built like a tank but very easy to use. You just need to get used to the strange locking mechanism and then nothing prevent you to enjoi this great blade!
