## Blade made of CPM Magnacut steel
The blade of this Böker  is made of CPM Magnacut steel, possibly the most revolutionary steel of the 21st century. MagnaCut offers an unrivalled balance between sharpness retention, toughness, corrosion resistance and ease of sharpening. Since the release of CPM MagnaCut in 2021, it has become one of the most popular steels in the world of knives. The MagnaCut blade of this pocket knife measures 7,9 cm in length.

## History of CPM Magnacut 
This type of steel was developed by Dr Larrin Thomas, a metallurgist who has dedicated his career to improving knife steel. He is the son of Devin Thomas, a famous damascus smith who supplied Chris Reeve Knives with steel for many years. Dr Larrin Thomas works in the automotive industry but is passionate about knife steels. He thought it should be possible to do better, and together with Crucible Industries came up with CPM MagnaCut. The blade of this knife is enhanced with a 'satin finish'. This is a chic and tasteful finish that is very popular.



## Handle made of GFN
The handle of the Böker DTK 110308, Satin MagnaCut, Black GFN pocket knife is made of GFN and measures 11,1 cm in length. GFN stands for 'Glass-Filled Nylon'. In that sense, it is pretty much the same as FRN (Fibre-Reinforced Nylon). These terms are also used interchangeably. Basically, GFN is a nylon-based plastic that has been reinforced with glass fibres for extra strength and durability.

Het mes ziet er op foto beter uit dan wat je krijgt... de scales zijn zeer goedkoop pure plastic.. en het magnacut mes komt echt bot binnen.. wat een teleurstelling. Het mes voelt aan alsof Het uit elkaar kan vallen. Magnacut gebruiken is 1 ding, maar zet er dan betere scales op want dit is het niet. 

Magnacut properly done and not burned like the 64HRC American crap. Axis lock works like a charm. The FRN/GFN is outstanding and shows how it should be done, not like the Hogue and Benchmade cheapy plastic.

Petit couteau simple,  léger (on ne le sent pas dans la poche), sobre et efficace. Tranchant rasoir en sortie de boîte, il n’y a pas de jeu entre la lame et le manche et il est livré avec un étuis EDC de bonne facture. 

Super! Staat z'n mannetje tussen (of tegenover?) m'n Spyderco Sage 5LW en m'n Benchmade Presidio II.

Alleen de broekclip valt een beetje tegen: Ten eerste is die overdreven strak, dus je moet er echt eventjes aan werken om 'm gangbaar te maken. Ten tweede begint de laklaag op de clip al na een paar dagen gebruik af te slijten :P. En ten derde ligt de clip niet echt lekker in de hand wanneer je een stevige 'knuist' maakt (maar dat vind ik ook van de Sage 5 en vele andere zakmessen).

Ondanks die broekclip ben ik er heel blij mee. Zo zeer dat ik te zijner tijd misschien ook de 'droppoint' variant EDK zal kopen🤷‍♂️

Wirklich ein gut durchdachter Entwurf.  Der Axislock in Verbindung mit der kugelgelagerten Klinge erzeugt eine gewisse Spielsucht. Öffnet und schließt superschnell. Vergleichbar mit einem OTF. Das Spydi-Hole braucht man eher selten. Die Klinge ist raffiniert geschliffen und aus der Box wirklich sehr scharf. Der Griff ist ergonomisch gut gemacht. Einziger Kritikpunkt: Der Clip ist recht kurz und sehr straff eingestellt, auch nicht wirklich  deepcarry … aber damit kann man leben…
