 The **Viper Lille** is a cool pocket knife, created by designer Jesper Voxnaes. This knifemaker is known worldwide for his functional, ergonomic and friendly-looking knives. The Viper Lille is no exception.


The Lille is a compact flipper pocket knife. This means you can quickly and effortlessly open it with the flipper. Ball bearings around the pivot point ensure that the Lille runs smoothly. The frame lock is robust and clicks firmly into place.


 The blade is made from M390 steel. This powder steel is very popular because of its high corrosion resistance, great sharpness retention, and how easy it is to sharpen. The blade is finely sharpened along the entire blade length of 6.5 cm. For this size of knife, it has a large cutting surface. 


The knife is very ergonomic. The curve for the flipper is just big enough to put a finger in without touching the edge. With your index finger in the recess and your thumb on the back of the blade, you have a lot of control while cutting. This grip is useful for precise cutting tasks.


The collaboration between Viper and Jesper Voxnaes has already resulted in several great knives. With the Lille, they've taken this even further. A superb design, with equally superb materials. This is a top knife that deserves a place in every knife lover's collection.

Prachtig mesje, qua formaat in gesloten toestand vergelijkbaar met de CRKT Pilar. Voor mij ergonomisch veel beter dan de Pilar - zelfs al is de 'forward finger choil' een van mijn favoriete kenmerken die een klein mesje geweldig kunnen maken (zoals de Spyderco Dragonfly/Byrd Robin). De choil van de Lille is groot genoeg voor je vingertop(pen), maar niet om stevig met je vinger te omsluiten. En dat is ook niet nodig, Als de kleine Pilar mèt forward choil genoeg ruimte voor je hele hand biedt, dan zul je bij de Lille ook achter de flippertab al je vier vingers goed om het fraai gevormde frame kunnen leggen. In de 'standaardgreep' is de Pilar in mijn hand wel iets comfortabeler, maar die greep is eigenlijk alleen maar goed om bijvoorbeeld kabels, touwen en spanbanden of hout te snijden. De Lille is en blijft een klein mes, maar de vorm van de snede en de handgreep leent zich voor een veel gevarieerder gebruik dan al mijn andere kleine mesjes - inclusief mijn favoriete werkmesje - de volstalen Byrd Robin.

Afwerking is bijna perfect. De enige aanmerking die ik kan maken is dat de ontgrendeling een beetje 'gritty' aanvoelt (maar absoluut niet 'sticky', misschien juist doordat de snede van het titanium framelock relatief ruw is gelaten). Een 'lockbar insert' was een mooie extra geweest, maar zou verders niet echt iets aan het mes toevoegen.

Ik ben in elk geval uitermate tevreden over dit mesje, zozeer zelfs dat ik onlangs ook nog de Viper Belone heb aangeschaft (zij het niet bij KATO - je moet de concurrentie ook wat gunnen😉).
