The **Steel Will Cutjack C22M-1BL** is a pocket knife with an appealing design made with only the best materials. An ideal knife to carry with you on a daily basis to open boxes or peel an apple.


The blade is made from D2-steel. A tough type of steel that retains its sharpness for quite a long time. Do make sure you clean the blade after you peel an apple: D2 is after all not completely stainless. You can easily make the blade appear with the flipper after which it is locked with a liner lock. As a result it will never close when you don’t want it to.


The handle is made from FRN, a light-weight plastic. Incredibly strong because it has been enhanced with glass fibres. With the pocket clip you can safely carry the Steel Will in your pocket. The Cutjack definitely stands out in its price range.

Mais pourquoi un finger choil aussi grand ? Le manche est assez bien en main, malgré la matière dure peu agréable, l’ouverture est facile et rapide, le liner lock efficace et facile à désengager, la lame de bonne qualité, mais bien dommage que son tranchant (rasoir) soit amputé de telle façon.

In het kort: Een beter mes dan de Steel Will Cutjack kun je voor dit geld niet krijgen. punt.

De Cutjack van Steel Will is een heel fijn EDC (Every Day Carry) mes dat veel waarde voor je geld levert. Het is fijn om te merken dat steeds meer fabrikanten D2 staal leveren. Het lemmet van deze Cutjack is daar ook van gemaakt. D2 is een staalsoort die taai is en lang zijn scherpte behoudt.

De handgreep is mooi gevormd en ligt lekker in de hand dankzij het "wafelpatroon" op de handgrepen, uitsparing voor de wijsvinger en de jimping aan de achterzijde op de rug. Het mes opent soepel en vergrendelt dmv een liner-lock. 

Het mes komt vlijmscherp uit de doos en is goed in elkaar gezet. Er is geen speling waarneembaar wanneer het lemmet is uitgeklapt en vergrendeld. Niet vertikaal en niet horizontaal. Dat is eigenlijk het eerste dat ik altijd controleer als ik een nieuw mes heb aangeschaft. Ik ben allergisch voor speling in het lemmet :)

Ik heb trouwens gekozen voor de blauwe versie van de Cutjack. De laatste tijd koop ik ineens gekleurde messen in plaats van zwarte. Dat heeft 2 voordelen: een mes met gekleurde handgrepen ziet er meer "zakmesserig" uit dan "wapenachtig" en dat kan fijn zijn met andere mensen in de buurt (bijvoorbeeld in een kantooromgeving of zo) en het tweede voordeel is dat je je mes minder gemakkelijk kwijt raakt als je het op de grond in het gras neerlegt,

Minpuntjes:
Voor mij zijn er 2 kleine minpuntjes aan de Cutjack waardoor ik geen 5-sterren beoordeling geef.

1. Linerlock vergrendeling functioneert goed maar is niet de sterkste vergrendeling die je kunt hebben. Ik ben een groot fan van het Axis-lock van Benchmade dat veruit het meest betrouwbare mechanisme is dat ik ken.

2. De pocket-clip is geen zgn. "deep carry"-clip waardoor er een stukje van het mes zichtbaar blijft boven je broekzak. Dat is niet erg discreet. Maakt voor het gebruik niets uit maar kan onhandig zijn mes-onvriendelijke omgevingen zoals kantoren enz.

Eindoordeel: voor 40 Euro kun je niet twijfelen. Koop dit mes, Het is zijn geld meer dan waard.
