The **Spyderco Stretch 2 XL** is a larger version of the well-known Stretch 2. The difference between these two knives is that they stretched the design of the Stretch slightly, **no pun intended! The blade is about 1 cm longer, and the knife is 2 cm longer in open position. This makes the Stretch 2 XL more suitable for people who prefer a larger knife.

This version of the Stretch 2 XL has liners made from steel. As a result, it's a little heavier than the other Stretch 2 XLs from Spyderco. But a pocket knife of this size also holds feels a bit better in hand if it has a good weight to it.  The handle is made from G10. This is a strong composite material made from linen and synthetic resin. It feels great in hand and offers enough grip. 

The blade is made from CPM CruWear. A popular type of steel that is wear-and-tear resistant. It retains its sharpness for a long time. This type of tool steel, however, is not 100% stainless. So be careful around fruit acids and salt water. A couple drops of oil once in a while will keep it in great shape. It is enhanced with very thin grind, making it a perfect slicer.

You can easily open the pocket knife one-handed with the thumb hole. When opened, the blade is locked by a solid back lock. The knife is equipped with a Boye dent to make sure you don't unlock it accidentally. This Boye dent is a small cutout that prevents you from accidentally releasing the lock.
