The **Spyderco Caribbean C217GP** is a cool pocket knife that was designed for divers and use in marine environments. For this purpose Spyderco founder Sal Glesser used a couple specific materials.



The blade is made from LC200N steel. This is an extremely stainless type of steel that retains its sharpness well. Even in marine environments LC200N has proven itself to be a type of steel that remains corrosion resistant, even with limited maintenance.



The handle is made from striking black-yellow G10. Due to the remarkable milling pattern in the G10, the yellow of the inner layers is also visible on the outside. As such you can also easily see this knife under water. Even in underwater environments with bright blue water that make other colours stand out less.



The largest challenge for Spyderco with this type of stainless steel knives is not just finding the right handle material or type of steel. The challenge is the hardware. The liners, pocket clip and screws. That is what Spyderco paid special attention to.



Apart from the specific features for sailors, off-shore professionals and divers the Spyderco Caribbean is also enhanced with a couple familiar features. You can, for instance, open it with the thumb hole and Sal Glesser's own Compression Lock ensures the blade stays closed when opened.



This C217GP Caribbean is enhanced with the standard leaf-shape blade and a plain edge without serrations.
