The **Spyderco Salt 2 C88SBBK2** is a practical pocket knife for everyone who works or recreates in maritime surroundings. The blade is, after all, completely stainless. That is because it is made from H1-steel. That is a type of steel in which all carbon has been replaced by nitrogen. The result is a guaranteed stainless type of steel that retains its sharpness well.


The Spyderco C88SBBK2 Salt 2 is a fine folding knife that can be opened with one hand. With the look and feel of the famous Delica model, exactly as you might expect from Spyderco; no-nonsense, decent and functional. You open the knife with one hand by means of the round hole in the blade, after which, when opened, it is locked by the reliable back-lock.


Ideal knife for underwater diving, fishing, off-shore, the food industry and all those other professions where rust is not desired.

I purchased this as a cutting device for SCUBA diving, and not as an EDC knife (unless you interpret that as Every Dive Carry).

The knife is nice and compact and lightweight. I removed the pocket clip (Torx T6) and attached a boltshap. I would've preferred if the hole to thread a lanyard through was a little bit bigger.

I opted or a serrated edge for cutting thicker rope. For cutting lines I have a Trilobite Eezycut. The semi sheepsfoot blade is well shaped to go between skin and rope..

The blade material is not H1, as mentioned on the site, but H2. H1 blade steel is no longer being produced. The specs could use some updating.

All in all it's a nice knife, and very suitable for SCUBA diving since the steel is completely rustproof. For EDC I wouldn't recommend this knife. It's a knife designed for a specific use-case.
