Like cushions on your sofa or bathroom sets, we don’t spend all day thinking about bottle openers, do we? They’re just there when we want them, and we take them for granted. I wanted a bottle opener that felt, worked and lasted like a tool, not just a cheap plastic kitchen utensil or a novelty ornament. Something real. This is it. The first thing is the weight in your hand. Even wrapped in its paper packaging it feels solid and substantial - just what I dreamed of in an opener. On opening the crisp little paper package, you can see why. The body is good-quality stainless steel. The working parts feel durable and look it too. This is good enough to open a pilsner or a bottle of top-end Bourgogne. I get a sense this will last a long time and will be a talking point as we open our bottles with friends. I bought one extra for my brother so he’s not left out - the price makes this an easy decision! The problem now is finding beer good enough to open with them.
