The **Laguiole en Aubrac Samba Prune** is a modern version of the classic Laguiole knife. The knife has a purple handle and a matted bolster and edge. This pocket knife is handcrafted to guarantee a refined finish.

## Laguiole en Aubrac Samba: stainless steel blade

The blade is made from stainless 12C27 Sandvik steel. This is a steel with a relatively high carbon content, making the knife hard as well as razor-sharp. Nevertheless, it isn't a steel that is prone to rust or ugly spots. It's also easy to sharpen if the knife starts to lose some of its sharpness over time.

## Laguiole en Aubrac Samba: coloured samba wood handle

The handle is made from samba wood. This African wood is light in colour, soft to the touch and doesn't splinter. It can also absorb a lot of moisture. Normally this is a negative property for a wood chosen as the handle of a knife. In this case, however, it means it can absorb colours really well. The wood has been treated with various bright colours and then sawn into pieces. These pieces are then stuck together to create a unique, colourful and unusual handle. And of course, the wood is then treated so that it no longer absorbs moisture. 

There are also other special touches on the handle. The spine of the handle is richly decorated with hand-filed embellishments, the signature Laguiole bee is on top of this bolster, and the scales are attached with rivets.
