The **Laguiole en Aubrac Mussel** is a modern version of the classic Laguiole knife. The knife has a special handle made from ground mussel shells and a high-gloss polished bolster and edge. This pocket knife is handcrafted to guarantee a refined finish. 

## Stainless steel blade

The blade is made from stainless 12C27 Sandvik steel. This is a steel with a relatively high carbon content, making the knife hard as well as razor-sharp. Nevertheless, it isn't a steel that is prone to rust or ugly spots. It's also easy to sharpen if the knife starts to lose some of its sharpness over time.

## Mussel shell handle

The handle is made from crushed mussel shells. The dark pieces of the shell have a purple-blue hue and provide a deep contrast to the shimmering pearlescence of the insides of the shells. These white pieces glisten in the light and give the elegant knife that extra je ne sais quoi. 

There are also other special touches on the handle. The spine of the handle is richly decorated with hand-filed embellishments, the signature Laguiole bee is on top of this bolster, and the scales are attached with rivets.
