The **ESEE Model 5** is a solid survival knife with a blade made from 1095 carbon steel. . With a blade thickness of 6.5 mm this is really a big knife. You can also tell when you look at the weight: approx. 450 grams. Quite a lot!

 Originally ESEE developed the Model 5 for pilots who needed to free themselves for That is when a solid knife such as this will definitely come in handy. Today survival enthusiasts have also discovered the value of the ESEE 5. It is difficult finding a more solid survival knife.

 The blade is made from 1095-carbon steel. The most important quality of this type of steel is its toughness. It is almost impossible to break, especially at this thickness. Another advantage is that 1095 carbon steel is easy to sharpen. Even when out in the field, with limited means, you can still easily sharpen your knife. The only thing you need to take into account is the corrosion resistance: 1095 is not stainless. Fortunately ESEE enhanced it with a thick Traction Coating.

 The full-tang blade is enhanced with a G10 handle. A 3D G10 handle. This was an answer to questions of enthusiasts. The traditional ESEE scales are flat and angular. These 3D scales are a lot more ergonomic. Because of the grooves you still have a lot of grip over the knife. With these scales the ESEE 5 has become a lot more versatile, even coming close to the traditional bushcraft knives.

 The knife comes with a top-quality kydex sheath. You can attach it any way you like on the included clip plate with steel belt clip. Because of the many mounting eyes you can also use other clips. Think of Tek-Loks or MOLLE clips (not included).

 The great thing about the 3D scales is these versions fit in the same sheaths as the normal versions. Need an additional or replacement sheath? No worries, you can simply choose the normal version!

Que dire,....!!! C'est du top...!!!, C'est mon troisième.....je les adore....!!!!

Super produit, très robuste et maniable malgré son poids. Seulement il faut le manier avec des gants car le manche en G10, même strier n’empêche pas que le couteau glisse lors de la coupe à la volée mais je l’adore, il est super fiable.

De ESEE-5 3D is een heel mooi mes, met uitstekend ergonomische greep, dit in vergelijking tot het voorgaande model met de platte, hoekige greep. Maar ik prefereer persoonlijk het lemmet van de ESEE-6. Deze 5 was mij iets te bruut, dik voor een mes. Voor de liefhebbers van messen die een deur kunnen openbreken, is dit een uitstekende keuze. Het is een heel mooi afgewerkt mes. Ook wel iets voor verzamelaars die het niet eens willen gebruiken, maar puur voor het mooie willen hebben.
Maar voor mij niet de juiste keuze.
