The **Due Cigni Cookout 1896 kengata** is a stylish kitchen knife. Kengata means 'sword-like' in Japanese, referring to the sharply sloping end of the blade. Other than that, the knife can be regarded as a member of the santoku family. The Japanese version of the chef's knife. The narrow tip is ideal for finely cutting meat, fish and vegetables.

## Blade Due Cigni Cookout 1896.

The blade is made from X50Cr15MoV-steel. This is a type of steel that is used often by Western knife manufacturers. When it comes to steel, it is always a balance between strength, flexibility and corrosion resistance. X50CrMoV15 steel can handle rust and is very strong. As such the knives are amazing to use and can be sharpened at a 20-degree angle. This also means that the knife is easy to maintain, thanks to the stainless qualities. In addition, you can also easily sharpen it yourself, if, after some time, it has lost some of its sharpness. The knife's blade runs all the way through the handle, which is known as full-tang construction. Nice and solid!

## Handle Due Cigni Cookout 1896

The handle is made from black POM. A rock-solid and sustainable plastic that can handle heat, water, acids and demanding use. Great for use in the kitchen. The handle is traditionally, and of course seamlessly, riveted to the blade with three rivets. As such no dirt can accumulate in between the blade and the handle. Despite the fact that it is a strong handle material we still recommend cleaning it by hand. The dishwasher could dull the plastic in the long run, and it could even tear.

## Due Cigni 1896 collection

The kitchen knives from the Due Cigni 1896 collection were designed by Oreste Frati. In addition to being the owner of Fox Knives, he is a gifted designer. For the design of these knives he looked at the design of classic European chef's knives. He used this design and made it his own. You can clearly see this in the flowing lines of the handle. The thin blade ensures that the knives weigh next to nothing and are easy to use. The knives are produced in Italy.

## About Due Cigni

Due Cigni (two swans) is a traditional, Italian knife manufacturer that has been producing top-quality kitchen knives, (pruning)scissors and saws for over hundred years. All products are produced in the Italian knife capital of Maniago. Some years ago the brand was bought by Fox Cutlery, also located in Maniago. They continued the Due Cigni tradition of producing fine, top-quality kitchen knives.
