The **Böker Manufaktur Solingen Black Amboina** is a top-quality straight razor. Böker has been producing straight razors for over a hundred years and has an excellent reputation in this field. This *straight razor* is made in the Böker workshop in Solingen, Germany.

## Böker Manufaktur Solingen Black Amboina blade

The blade is made from carbon steel. An acid ensures that the blade is enhanced with its black look and feel. This is not your 'everyday' coating. This straight razor has an *extra hollow* grind with a *ridge*. The extra hollow grind gives you an extremely thin edge which is also a little flexible. This razor is amazing to work with but perhaps not as suited for heavy beard growth. The *ridge* ensures that the spine of the blade is thick enough to be blocked by the handle. In addition, the spine provides support when determining the right sharpening angle while stropping and sharpening.

This razor is enhanced with a square tip and the tang behind the edge is enhanced with grip serrations on both sides. 

## Böker Manufaktur Solingen Black Amboina handle

The handle is made from Amboina wood. A remarkable type of wood made from the root of one of the trees from the legume family in South-East Asia. This type of wood receives its dark colour after it is stabilized. The pattern in the wood is unique for every knife! That is why it is important to keep in mind that the product you receive can differ from the product photo. The material and the perfect finish is, of course, always the same.
