The **Böker Magnum Survivalist** is a practical and all-metal survival knife. As well as the large Rambo-style blade, the knife also has a serrated saw and a storage compartment with a waterproof capsule in the aluminium handle. Conveniently, this capsule already contains a plaster, fishing line, needle and five matches. 

Just like a bayonet, the Böker Survivalist has a cut-out in the guard. However, you don't use it to mount the knife on the barrel of a gun, but rather to attach it to a stick. With paracord, for instance. This allows you to turn your knife into a spear. Handy for survival situations when you have to hunt.

## Böker Survivalist blade

The Bowie-style blade is made from 7Cr17MoV steel with a black coating. This type of steel is very corrosion-resistant and easy to sharpen. It won't retain its sharpness for a very long time, but this is compensated by the fact that 7Cr17MoV steel is incredibly tough. As a result, it won't break easily during heavy jobs, and it's easy to sharpen. In practice this means that you have to do a little maintenance regularly, so you always have a sharp knife with you. 

There is a compartment containing a small sharpening stone on the front of the supplied nylon sheath. This means you always have a sharpening stone with you to keep the knife sharp.
